Do we know if this change was intended? Any chance of it going back? It is much easier to right click on a link or command click on a link to have it open up in a new tab than trying to have it not do that.

As an admin we used to be able to delete a user's self-generated or tool approved access tokens via masquerading. That no longer works. Is there a way to do this via API or some other way??

Thanks for giving us a straight answer and confirming this Erin! I understand the rationale. I never understood why they had "Treat Ungraded as 0" setting in the New Gradebook in the first place and actually submitted feedback on the issue a while ago. We don't appreciate the disabling of the feature mid-semester with no warning. And It's still there where it has always been, it just no longer works in Grid view like it has for over a year. This really frustrates teachers who were using the feature and those of us who work to support them. Alas suppose it's fair play because of the beta label it had.

I believe the changes made to the Individual View Filters caused an unintended side effect where if the instructor has the "Treat Ungraded as O" option selected it only applies now to the Individual Gradebook View and not to the Class Gradebook View. In the new Gradebook it was applying to both but now it doesn't and that is causing mid semester issues for some of our instructors. Personally, I think that setting needs to be redesigned so it is clear to instructors about what it actually does and doesn't do.

We often times get calls and emails from instructors with large gradebooks and they have a hard time telling which assignment(s) have been muted. This parity or some new feature that allows users to accomplish this is still needed in the new gradebook.

Many of our teachers would like to be able to quickly see the Average Grade for the Course broken out by each section. Currently we can only see up to two sections by using the filter and it only shows assignment averages not total average grade in course. I hope this functionality will be added in an upcoming release = )

If you go to your Course Analytics ( see: How do I view Course Analytics?‌ ) and hover over the assignment marks under the Grades section you can see some of that info there. Otherwise you could export a CSV file of your gradebook and then open it in Excel and enter some quick formulas to calculate those numbers. At 35:15 @mbenson_sales ‌ says we will see these mockups which are part of the Priority: Analytics 2 project "this fall" Since the video was recorded in the summer of 2017, wouldn't "this fall" mean Sept - Nov of 2017? So we are now a year out from that and I don't see any of these changes. Is this a closed beta release or is the option to turn this on hidden in a feature flag or do we contact our CSM? We would really like to take advantage of this and start using it ASAP.

I just got off the phone with one of our instructors and the new gradebook is not showing his period 3 section is now gone and only the Test Student shows for that section. As an admin I can see his period 3 students but he can not and when I did an "act as user" to masquerade as the teacher I was also unable to see section 3 students in the gradebook. Here is the link to the course https://hbuhsd.instructure.com/courses/32814/settings I've disabled the new gradebook and then it does show section 3... feel free to enable it if needed to test this bug.

The Problem Our number one Canvas help issue the past several years revolves around student's submitting Google Docs, Slides or Sheets via the built-in Google Drive integrations. We switched to the new Google Drive LTI tool this year and that has proven to be more problematic than the prior integration for student submissions. If you are not familiar with the issues students are experiencing see: Google Drive Authorization Failed‌ At one point we considered turning the new Google Drive LTI Tool off, but that would affect collaborations, and remove the button from our Rich Text Editor. So we just needed a way to prevent the Google Drive Tab (shown below) from showing up in the student assignment submission tab and leave everything else the Google LTI tool does as it is. The Solution Remove Google Drive LTI Tool Manually Add a new App using the "Paste XML" Method Use the same Key & Secret as your original Google Drive LTI App and paste the XML code found in this Google Doc into the XML window Press Submit & you are done. Helping Students Since students will NOT see the Google Drive Tab in the submission window, it's important that they know how to submit a Google File using one of the methods below. Student friendly help guides are linked to as well File Upload- Student goes to their Google Doc and from the File Menu they download it as a PDF (other file types like txt, docx, pptx.... work too). They then upload that into the Canvas file submission window. Website URL- Student submits the share URL of the Google File in the URL submission window via copy/paste. I have a page of student friendly instructions on how to do both of these that you can import right into your Canvas Courses by going to Canvas Commons and searching for "Google Drive Chris Long". Once you find that and import into your courses, you can simply link to that page in your assignments descriptions and it will be there for your students, should they need a refresher on how to do this. Thanks the video helped me conceptualize how this might work. Thinking through this here is how I would go about getting this to work for a way to help teachers create an assignment in one course and quickly send it into let's say 3 other courses. Enable Blueprint feature Create a Blueprint Shell Course for the teacher Make the 3 active courses the teacher is teaching a child of the Blueprint course I created above in Step 2 Teach the Teacher how to make an assignment in the BluePrint Shell Course then synch it over to their other 2 courses. Orphan the Blueprint children courses at the end of the semester The original Shell Blueprint courses will need to adopt new children courses for the new semester. So I'll give this a go with one lucky teacher, theoretically it should work. It's not really what I meant by Fast & Easy Way to Copy Content on the fly. As a teacher can't do this without significant support from their admin and they have to use a Shell course to do it. So is this something Canvas is still planning on doing in a future release? I'll report back on how this goes.

So I looked a Ken's resource and I've enabled blueprint courses and it's not that I haven't tried or don't believe you when you say it was designed to do what I requested, I just would like a little help figuring this out. Would really, really appreciate a short 30 second video showing how to do this.
