We found this out a couple of weeks ago and were shocked. We have built ActivInspire/ActivStudio flipcharts for years and now, with little warning, they are implementing ClassFlow which has very limited capabilities for "old" flipcharts. Will see what we can get done. Thanks for the Partner Integration site @Renee_Carney . This will be a tremendous help as more and more tools are requested by teachers.

Many schools use Promethean Boards to display lessons and teacher material. It would be great if teachers could post these flipcharts in Canvas and have them rendered in preview mode instead of students having to download them. The base software used is ActivInspire so that is probably a better description of what needs to be visualized. This would be great on the internet site as well as the iPad app.
If the capability to preview is not possible, maybe an LTI could be produced to display the flipcharts.

Have you seen this in action? I have setup our Beta site with the integration trying things out but I can't sign in as a student into the Beta environment to see what happens. Does it create a true copy as opposed to editing one copy? Does the teacher still "own" the copy and can collaborate with the student or does the ownership of the copy transfer to the student? Thanks.

@Renee_Carney , you had posted a comment on 8/25 about this being in production. It also showed up in my Jive email this week. While this was working, it is isn't working now. For the past couple of weeks, the SIS button was on the Quiz index page only and nothing was appearing on the Assignment index page. Today, the icon appears if the Post to SIS is active (let's say true for lack of a better term). After you click it to toggle to false (or off), the icon disappears. We really need the icon to be there all the time to toggle back and forth depending on the assignment. Can you help??? Thanks.

I'm confused by this update. It has been in production and working great but diaappeared a couple of weeks ago. Is it in another spot? it has disappeared from the assignments index page but is still active on the quiz page. We really miss this on the assignment index page. thanks.

I am not sure when it happened but the Post to SIS shortcut on the assignments index page has disappeared. It is still available in Quizzes. However, I noticed in the redesign above that the shortcut is not shown on either the assignments or quiz index pages. Is this feature going away? Please say no. It has been a huge lifesaver and timesaver for our teachers instead of having to go into each assignment and turn on and off as needed.

I am curious if I can change the default options globally for new courses for the Course Details tab "more options" section. Right now, most teachers are unchecking boxes and checking boxes that are opposite of what prepopulates. Essentially, I want to uncheck the three that are checked and check the bottom three. Also, I want to default some options "below the line" in the Navigation section of all courses--such as Chat (which none of our teachers use or want to use since it is unfiltered and not monitored (until after the fact). I can't seem to find any information on these options. Thanks.

This is great but it needs to be more than a summary view. The hardest part of syncing and not is keeping track of the checkboxes. If you have 30 assignments and only want to sync one (so that you don't overwrite any changes made in the SIS), having to go into each assignment/quiz to uncheck or to determine which ones are checked is the biggest and most time consuming problem. As you design, it would be great to keep this in mind and have the check/uncheck box (post to SIS box) on whatever interface you create--a page, in the grade book, etc.

The following works on an iPad: When you are on any course content screen (regardless of course), if the cache is full or needs emptying (which you won't know unless you try this--if it is not needed, nothing will happen), tap in the content part of the screen with four fingers three times and a message will come up that says cache cleared and then press OK. This was provided by Canvas support when I was having trouble with discussions not displaying properly and the app kept crashing.

I agree with what others have said (especially about calendar additions and quiz limitations). Our students have had trouble with assignment submissions from trying to find the upload button (the red box on the bottom of the screen). It gets lost in color coordination. The one thing that has saved me the most is the clearing the cache feature. When the app starts "acting up" (not displaying discussions properly, not loading pages, not displaying all calendar events, not activating the "Turn In" button in an assignment submission, etc.) tapping three times with four fingers clears the app's cache and usually fixes the problem.

Chris, If you think it is appropriate for that group. It isn't a mobile App problem as much as it is a mobile Safari problem. As of now, it is not largely replicated but on select devices. I have teachers and students with problems on the iPad because the iOS browser views are not filling up the screen and some items are not resizing to fit the window (as in the center frame where a quiz or content might be). I can understand user-uploaded items but the Canvas window is not resizing to fill the window fully. I have tried this in Safari and the Chrome app, both on and iPad Air running iOS9.1 and on an iPad4 running 9.1. The need for this to be right is that quizzes don't work properly in the App all the time (such as reviewing answers) and per Instructure, that feature must be done in the browser. As you can see in the following screenshot, almost a 1/3 of the screen is rendered useless. Zooming is not the problem as it is frame size that is the issue. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

This is a great idea that we were going to suggest as well. Working with our SIS, we hate to override something because we missed a checkbox. This is desperately needed.
