Yes, that would work but it's much more cumbersome than a simple "send to" from inside the course. The teachers would have the follow this multistep process for every quiz they want to share. Thanks for the idea!

If a teacher creates a quiz with question groups linked to question banks and uses the "send to" feature to share the quiz with a different teacher, the questions and question bank don't travel along with the quiz. Is there a way to use the "send to" feature to also send the question banks so the questions populate in the quiz? I get the same result when I try to share the quiz to the commons. The only solution I can think of is to make the two individuals teachers in each other's courses so they can import content and and select question banks that go along with the quizzes. That seems cumbersome. Any better suggestions?

It looks like it works to save when doing a media comment in the Speedgrader but not in a message.

If an instructor records a video message to students in the inbox, provides video feedback to an assignment, or creates a media recording using the rich content editor, are the media files saved anywhere in Canvas? I have instructors who would like to reuse the same media recording in multiple areas (message, feedback, etc) but there is no way to pull them up again as you would a regular file. Any suggestions?

I used to receive Canvas release notes via email but I haven't received them for over a year. It appears that I have them enabled in my community preferences. Any suggestions on how I can subscribe to or change a settings so I can receive Canvas release notes again and stay up to date?

It appears as thought the rating title is a required field but I don't remember it being that was before. Is this a recent change? Is it something I can control in the admin settings?

Thanks for the ideas. I don't know that the font would be the issue because they used Times New Roman which seems about as universal as you can get - although I'm not a font expert:) The hanging indent v spaces and page break v enter make sense. I tried testing it to replicate the problem and no luck, but I'll try again.

The students are uploading the file from their Google Drive. The teacher did not want to use the website URL version (live doc) because she didn't want to see any changes the students made after the due date and she didn't want to have to rely on the version history to check each one.

Students uploaded research papers from Google Drive to a Canvas assignment. When previewing in the Speedgrader, some formatting is not showing up correctly. For example, the first paragraph is beginning at the bottom of the title page instead of on the second page (for most students) and hanging indents in the works cited aren't showing as indented. Is this a common problem with viewing Google Docs in the Speedgrader? When I check the revision history of the Google Doc and compare it to the upload time, the inconsistency is there. It's not that the doc was changed or corrected after the assignment submission. Any suggestions?

I am working with two separate teachers who both have crosslisted courses. When they click post grades to pass grades to Powerschool from Canvas, everything transfers fine for one course, but only the assignment shell and no grades transfer for the other course. Evenually with enough tries and over the course of a few days, the grades appear. I can't figure out why the assignment is transferring, but not the grades for the second course. I thought maybe it had something to do with the Canvas gradebook being sorted to show only one section, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Anyone else seeing this issue or have any suggestions?

Here's something I don't like about the first solution...when I look at a student in the speedgrader, I still have to use a drop down window to flip through their submissions. I'd like all submissions to be in one window for easy grading. Is that possible?

I actually suggested one shared google doc with the teacher, but he didn't want to take the time for the student to type in the question or copy/paste it. This is supposed to be a quick 5 minute or less activity at the beginning of every class. But that's the way I would go!

If there's no due date on the the assignment, it won't show up in the Canvas gradebook and transfer to Powerschool? In order to create a text entry assignment, it has to be graded (versus not graded). The instructor isn't going to grade every journal entry. They pretty much grade for completion at the end of the marking period so it would be bad if each assignment went into the Canvas gradebook. Can you elaborate on the second suggestion about creating groups with one student? What's the advantage there?

Is there a journaling feature in Canvas? A high school biology teacher wants his students to answer a "bell ringer" question every day to start class. At the end of the marking period he wants to see the responses sorted by student so he can grade them as he would if they were doing it in a notebook with pencil and paper. It would also be nice for the students to have a copy of the questions and responses to study for exams. Is there currently a way for students to do this in canvas?
