Hello all! Last week I was attempting to showcase the Course Pacing feature to a group of VT faculty. Unfortunately when I went to showcase it, the Course Pacing button was missing from the Modules tool. In troubleshooting, I found out that the Course Pacing button was moved to an item in the Canvas menu/toolbar. I spoke with 2 different Instructure support agents before having a 3rd L2 email me that the Course Pacing button has been removed from Modules and will only display in the Canvas menu. I would like to request that the button be added back to Modules. An assignment MUST be in a Module in order to use Course Pacing, so it only makes sense to keep the button in the Modules tool. From our faculty:
Yes, .m files, .mat files, and .mlx files are all Matlab file types. I expect students to submit each of these file types. .m files are plain ASCII text files with no formatting .mat files are binary files with a proprietary Matlab format .mlx files are also proprietary Matlab format files that are mostly ASCII text with some special formatting embedded in the file Oddly enough, Canvas doesn’t seem to have any problem with the .mlx files. I certainly don’t expect the Canvas file viewer in Speed Grader to display the .mlx or the .mat files, but I want students to submit them as part of their solution.
Two problems:
1) Students cannot upload the file itself.
2) Sometimes Speedgrader can open the file; sometimes it cannot.

Currently Canvas assignments does not support the upload of .m files or display in Speedgrader which causes issues when students try to submit .m files and when trying to view the files in Speedgrader.
Canvas often reports that it cannot open the .m files in the online viewer in SpeedGrader, but sometimes it allows them to open. Our faculty have a current workaround but that involves downloading hundreds of student submissions.

Please unarchive this as I just used the wrong terminology. The faculty member still wants the feature even if doesn't include question groups. He would like the option per question in New Quizzes.

As admin, I have a faculty member requesting a new feature in Canvas quizzes.
New Feature: Give an option to allow or not allow feedback per question. The faculty member wants to give feedback for certain questions in a quiz but not for all questions.
For example, he wants to provide feedback for the short answer/essay questions but not the multiple choice. Currently there is no way to toggle feedback on or off per question.
