Greetings. Canvas Admin here. It would be wonderful if students could view a rubric during a quiz. It's possible to attach a rubric to a quiz so students see it briefly when the quiz becomes available but once the quiz begins they lose access. It would great if they had an option to view the rubric while they were working on a quiz to make sure they're addressing all of the components they'll be graded on. Thanks!

Greetings, all. Canvas Admin here. I'm aware of all the current ways that you can create extra credit opportunities. Unfortunately this doesn't really address quizzes at all. It would be great if there was a way to create an extra credit quiz. Creating questions worth zero points and then giving students more than zero doesn't seem to do the trick.

Hi, folks. I'm a Canvas Admin and I have an idea I think would be helpful for those using rubrics in conjunction with New Quizzes. It's currently possible to attach a Rubric to a New Quiz and select "use for grading" but we've noticed some problematic behavior when we try to do this. Everything works great when grading from the rubric until a student earns zero points on all elements of the rubric. In that instance the student's grade (0) is never pushed to the gradebook. It would be wonderful if this could be addressed in future improvements to quizzes/rubrics. It seems like even though it's technically possible to attach a rubric to a quiz the behavior isn't really 100% supported by Canvas. It would be good if this could be improved because quizzes have some great features (like time limits and accommodation options) that make it ideal for exams that have file upload components. For assessments like this, rubrics are very handy. Students are given a clear understanding of what they're being assessed on and instructors can grade easily. _____ For any Instructure folks who want to see this in action you can check out the screencast I created for the following case: University of Alabama in Huntsville Case# 09216219 I can't post it here because it shows student info.

This is a desperate need. At the very least, the the display order of the student names should be alphabetical. Currently it appears to be random. Filtering/sorting would be very helpful!

The grade book export appears to organize assignments in the order they appear on the Assignments page. It would be nice if there was an option to export a grade book view. For instance, if an instructor has organizes the grade book by due date or by module, it would be nice if the export reflected the same view. Similarly, if the instructor manually manipulates the order of the grade book columns, it would be nice if the export honored the view the instructor constructed.

In Classic Quizzes - if you have a file upload question you can "Download All Files" from the quiz details page. For file upload Assignments a "Download Submissions" option is available on the assignment details page AND from the column dropdown menu in the grade book. I'd like to see a "Download All Files" option available from the column dropdown menu in the grade book for quizzes. This would standardize the way file submissions can be accessed across assignments and quizzes.

This is desperately needed in the annotation and general feedback areas. It's awkward making the correction that something should be italicized if we don't have access to do it ourselves.

Couldn't agree more. Our instructors love this new feature but changing the time is a needed improvement.

Last week I noticed that the Canvas Guides had a UI change. I can appreciate an update from time to time but the resulting product is much less useable than the previous version. Gone are the anchors in the Instructor and Student Guides that allow me to direct a user to all your tutorials on a particular topic. Many of the links in our training courses are broken so I'm having to correct URLs. I don't know where to start on the Video Guides (https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Video-Guide/tkb-p/videos). What used to be my favorite KB resource is now a weird feed - videos listed by the date they were created rather than organized by topic. Please tell me there are plans to fix this. I would have more patience with these changes if they hadn't come a week before the fall semester is scheduled to start. Please let us admins know in advance when changes like these are planned. This would have been a great thing to include in an email or in the Release Notes.

A wonderful idea! I just had an instructor write a long and beautiful comment via the gradebook grade/comment pop-up. He then entered the grade and clicked "Update Grade." That selection completely wiped out his unsubmitted comment without warning. Combining the two update buttons into one would help avoid this for other instructors in the future.
