Click images to enlarge on screen I'd like the ability to set images (or links to images) to enlarge in Canvas the way they do here in the community (maybe by setting the target to overlay?). Click the image for an example: ... |

I can provide a concrete example that would make an optional “assigned” date quite useful. I primarily teach blended courses. For an on-campus exam (an “on-paper assignment”), should I set the “due” time for the start or end of class? I believe that a lot of folks would be surprised to learn that this confuses students. It does. A pervious comment mentions the use of something such as an Excel sheet for the course calendar. That does solve this problem; however, if we should just use Excel, why have a calendar at all? I like the functionality that comes from using the calendar. My students do too. Learning management systems all seem to be designed for 100% online courses. The issue is that many—if not most—courses have on-campus components.

It's definitely about giving certain students extra time on a quiz. When disability accommodations come in, I (and I'm sure a ton of others) have to go in and add time for each student for each quiz. If you come up with a way to do that in a similar way to your date adjustment, a package of your favorite adult beverage has your name all over it!

I gave this a go today while setting up my summer classes. @James , you win the internet for at least a month with this. https://giphy.com/gifs/iiS84hOJXh1Pq?tc=1 Now I really want one to do time accommodations. That wins the internet for 6 months!

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas At the bottom of the syllabus, a list of all calendar events and assignment due dates falls under the header Assignments Summary. This is misleading. Please change this header to Calendar Summary, Course Agenda, or something else that properly represents the content. (An archived idea regarding this topic was previously submitted by Paul Goodenough.) In the meantime, I added a small edit to the very bottom of the syllabus as a workaround: <p> </p> <h2>Calendar &</h2> This essentially makes it Calendar & Assignments Summary: Comments from instructure Please read through the https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-8768 for more information

I had this issue once. I would check two things: I had deleted some questions, but they were still in the question banks with dead links. Cleaning up the question bank (deleting unused questions) may help. I would also check to see if a quiz has a question group that is "Linked to a Question Bank" that wasn't imported. I hope this helps! (on a related note, the link validator also didn't like anchor links that I have in my syllabus, but they still work.)

Hey @scottdennis , I just went over to vote up " modifiedtitle="true" title="Rich Content Editor... and something weird happened. I clicked vote up, and it voted down. I had to click again to fix it. If I had just clicked and moved on, it may've stayed a down vote. It may've just been a weird one-time thing, or something I did (that button is pretty big though), but maybe not.. I wonder if downvotes have increased after the latest updates to the community... Just thought I'd mention it. (Chrome Version 50.0.2661.102 (64-bit) btw)

When I moved over from ANGEL, I thought this was going to be so confusing for the students! I was wrong. By default, we have the quizzes link disabled, and this has not been an issue at all. That being said, there is one that trips me up all the time. "Oh dang. I need to go to assignments, not quizzes!" This usually rears it's ugly head while working in my traditional courses... How about they all live in assignments?

Hey folks! Thank you all for voting and commenting! I'm really happy that this idea has gotten traction, and hopefully we'll see it implemented! While not really related, I wanted to share another one of my ideas that I'd really like to see implemented: " modifiedtitle="true" title="Let students see their quiz responses at a specific date. I'd appreciate it if you'd check it out, and even more if you'd give it a vote up! Thanks!

Hi Susan. Thanks for voting! I see the issue with timing; however, I'd think instructors would be sensitive to the issue and adjust accordingly. For example, having had a couple of folks mention how long it takes to load (similar to what I'd expect would happen in a class) I just edited the original idea using a reduced size of the image. Regarding accessibility, I'd hope the developers take that into consideration as well. The image in the original idea has an alt tag. I wonder if it's preserved. Thanks for your comment, and thanks again for voting!

Thirty-seven votes in six days... Great stuff! Hopefully we can keep it up. I should point out that the idea includes both images and links to images. Both open the same way here in the community.
