As far as I can tell, each course must individually have a grading standard set. We've been doing this with the "update course settings" API call (Canvas LMS REST API Documentation).

I'd like to get letter grades with the enrollments from the API. I was just testing this, and was receiving nulls for the letter grades until I went into the course settings and enabled the course...
