So we had an old script fire last night, importing an incorrect CSV and creating something like 3600 unneeded courses, with enrollments. Is there any way to remove these courses without having to do it manually? I was considering modifying the CSV to remove those enrollments and courses, then running it again - would that work?

Have you tried to import the Moodle XML format with the "Moodle" dropdown in the Canvas import tool? There are some converters for XHTML to XML, but I haven't actually tried doing so.

I would suggest talking to your local IT support. Zoom should have an apple application that should be installing when you try to access it, but your local admin may have something configured incorrectly.

I haven't seen this behavior so I have to assume the first place to check is on your local machine. Is it possible that your Microsoft Word isn't activated? Or the file is in read only? Either should show a ribbon at the top when you open the file. Do you have a separate device to try the same?

The best way to set up a single assignment with different settings for different groups is to duplicate the assignment, and assign the duplicate to the second group of students. So group 1 (or section 1) is assigned to the first copy, that isn't hidden, and group/section 2 is assigned to the second copy, which is.

This doesn't sound like out of box functionality. Students and Instructors should only be able to see what the user has entered into their user profile page, which by default doesn't have their email address. You may want to talk to your school admin about if they've added any functionality around that.

As far as I'm aware, the advanced tab is only for the "Allow Final Grade Override". That's an opt-in feature that needs to be set by an admin in the admin - settings - feature options, "final grade override". Hope I translated your question ok, and answered it for you.

Hi Matt, Could you use an assignment group for each module, to track the percent complete? Or use the progress tracker? Or do you need to score each module specifically (and not assignments/quizzes), and separately?

We're looking to add some custom links to the Global Navigation, and I've already cannibalized JS scripts posted long ago, but I've lost the link to find icons that I can insert into that script. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Has anyone developed a way to identify if a user is outside the US? We're trying to establish which ones may have trouble accessing Canvas and related course materials (especially in China), but I'm unsure if there's a way to gather info on which ones they are. I was considering possibly what time zone they've set, or perhaps their most recent IPs. But before I reinvent the wheel, I was wondering if any other admins have already explored this. Thanks for your help

I'm trying to get a list of all courses in the "Manually-Created Courses" subaccount, however, courses without an SIS ID seem to not show up in the stock reports. Anyone have a method to generate a list?

I'm having trouble deciphering the admin roles. A department wants an admin role for an auditor that can't edit grades or course content, but can see it all. I have it all set, except I can't seem to get the permission for access to the course statistics page. Anyone know which permission that page falls under?

Nope, not me. But we have a staff member that is leaving our University that was wanting to make sure the materials they had sent to Commons for our faculty would remain available, or would need to be re-uploaded by someone else. I had made the assumption the materials would remain, but wanted to confirm. They've moving from staff with us to a faculty member with a different Canvas institution, so it's a good thing all around.

Hi All, Hope someone can help me with a project. Our institution signed a deal with Lynda.com, which includes integration with Canvas. However, the only supported integration is via an External Tool, which they intend to be accessed via a link in Modules. I've gotten a request to add it to Course Navigation, either on a course-by-course basis or globally. Anyone tried something like this, or have suggestions? Thanks in advance.
