Upvoting this one!  Since 2011! Folks, I did figure out that you can check "excused" on a submission and at least it will go away on those pesky reminders when all but one assignment have been graded....

Come on! Do this!!  

An essential feature for honest feedback or discussion threads where students might feel they have a "dumb question." 

I have one module running per class, with lots of links and small readings and questions for focus.  So this will become overwhelming to students if it is all open at once.  Wondering about a work aro...
