I agree with everyone who mentioned wanting a more convenient way to individually grade students within a group. I like the "This is a Group Assignment" option; However, I was disappointed to find the "Assign Grades to Each Student Individually" part is really no different from grading individual assignments. I'm seeing comments on how to go around this problem, which is fine, but it doesn't resolve the issue of simplicity and convenience.
What I would like to see, when "Assign Grades to Each Student Individually" is selected, is a speed grader page that looks something like this:
Speed Grader, group assignment (individual grades)
I would also include a way to send comments to the individual student as well (not found in the image). This way all of your group grading can be done in one place. You don't have to jump from one page to the next editing assignment settings or figuring out who is in what group.

Whenever a student resubmits an assignment after the due date, It automatically marks the assignment as late. The problem is, they were not late. They did submit the assignment within the due date, they are just seeing the grade they got and are re-submitting that assignment to get a better grade. (While teacher permits.) Saying this, every time a resubmission button it pushed, I would like canvas to check to see if the original submission was on time, then not make the resubmission late; Rather, have it marked as re-submitted and keep the date of the resubmission. There is the problem of students quickly turning in a blank page then latter turning in a completed assignment before the teacher has a chance to grade it. This can be fixed by keeping the original submitted assignment available so the teacher can look and see if the student was truthful in their first submission.
