So, ran into this issue as well. In my case it appears the instance I was working on is self-hosted, and I needed the Admin to create a developer key the allows access to my client ID. How do I add a developer key for an account? | Canvas Admin Guide | Canvas Guides Not sure this is valid for your case though, as I see your note below: My developer credentials came through Instructure (not those you can now generate at the institution level) The main difference again is the instance I am working on is out of the norm as a self-hosted Canvas instance.
