Hello everyone, I was wondering why Heading 1 is available as a Paragraph Style when you navigate to the dropdown from the Format Menu > Formats > Headings > Heading 1 (shown in the screenshot below). Prior to the RCE update, I understood that the highest level was left off because the name of the page, assignment, etc was the H1. I'm both confused and concerned that this is available. Given that it's not available from the dropdown on the RCE Toolbar I don't see why it should available at all.

I was recently in Chat support and was hoping to see an improvement made in Commons. Currently there is no warning message visible when a Commons update is available that explains the potential of overwriting existing content since the entire asset is updated rather than the specific element that was changed. Alternatively, if a user could "undo Commons Import" if in fact their content changes to minimize the stress on campus admins and/or Canvas support to help restore the previous content. It's not ideal to ask every faculty to have a separate sandbox course for a Commons course template so they can do a selective course copy to their live/active courses to avoid this overwriting issue.

This is exactly what I need for training courses I facilitate on my campus. I love the "Lock Until" option to open material but often have a cut-off date where the material should once again be locked/unavailable for one reason or another so I would greatly appreciate having this functionality.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but is the RCE keyboard accessible? I was unable to navigate (in Chrome) to any of the built-in styles and formatting within the RCE (2 rows of options above the text box) including the Accessibility Checker using only the keyboard. The order was egregious, out of order, and only selected items on the periphery of the screen. I was shocked at what I found and really hope that it is somehow a fluke? I support faculty and am concerned about a few faculty in particular that utilize a screenreader and 'tab' to navigate and build their courses. Has anyone else experienced this? What is your workflow? Is it browser specific? Thanks!

I'm so excited to see that the checker recognized the H2 correctly and also correctly fixes heading structure (e.g. fixed a H4 to H3.. headings can't be skipped) 🙂

I was testing the Accessibility Checker in our beta instance and continually got the warning that 'Heading levels should not be skipped' despite the first header on my page being an H2. It is a known fact that the page title is an H1 and the fact that 'Heading 1' is not an option within the paragraph styles menu.

It would also be imperative that once this functionality was added that it translated to ALLY and those with the tool weren't faulted for appropriately tagging decorative images.

Greetings!! I was hoping that someone could clarify the similarities and differences between Ally & UDOIT?? I know Ally is a paid service and I believe UDOIT is available on GItHub (correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm curious if anyone is using both of them. If so, why? Essentially I'm trying to determine if UDOIT is able to go beyond files which Ally focuses on. Also, is UDOIT implemented system wide or can it be isolated to specific courses? Yes, we have yet to see anything specifically about Canvas. Our demo was only in Blackboard and the on-boarding call was exclusive to Bb too. Since the call, we have opted to only try it in Canvas and forgo using it in Bb our last semester....Spring 2018 Canvas exclusive campus!! Thank you for your input.

Can anyone recommend someone that is versed in Ally for Canvas? Every call I've had with Bb has been disappointing as soon as I mention Canvas. I wasn't able to connect with the Bb Ally Team at InstructureCon17 but would really like to get my Canvas specific questions answered. Or if there are any campuses that are currently piloting or using it that would be willing to Zoom with my team to discuss and share (please let me know)? Thanks for your time, @a11ygal
