We need a tool to identify what revisions an instructor made themself, in the live version of an associated course. The Blueprint Course is the gold standard for that course; however, instructors add or revise the course that they teach in during the semester (the associated course). We need a tool to compare the two versions to answer the question of what is different in the associated course. This means that I need to quickly answer, "what did the instructor add or remove from the associated course while they were teaching from it?" for about 300 courses each semester. Compare Blueprint of Course xyz1 to the associated live version of Course xyz1.

Problem statement:
We rely on Blueprint courses and the association and synchronization of course content and activities. Blueprint courses are developed by our IDs and meet our quality standards, including usability and accessibility. Instructors are encouraged to "tweak" or revise the course in the live version. At the end of the term, we'd like to compare the live version to the original Blueprint to identify revisions and operationalize Blueprint revisions and management as a part of continuous quality control.
Proposed solution:
Develop a compare and contrast tool that could compare the Blueprint Course with the associated courses and report specific changes or variances.

Hi Sam. Have you heard of a way to compare an associated and synchronized course to the blueprint to identify changes made in the associated course during a semester by the teacher? We want to do this to get ahead of changes that a department or teacher may ask for to the original blueprint course in the spirit of continuous quality improvement.

Hi everyone. Does anyone know a tool or workaround to identify which courses have assignments with outdated due dates? We need to ensure all due dates have been updated to be within the confines of the current term. We are using AspireEDU Dropout Detective and when instructors do not update their due dates, the Dropout Detective identifies students in those courses as at risk for "dropping out," thus rendering that indicator useless. I have used the various account admin reports and do not know of one that can run this report. Please let me know your ideas. We are ready to implement a solution.

Maryna, I am the Director for Learning Design and Development at Tulane's School of Professional Advancement. One of our program directors [MDES] just submitted a help ticket asking that my team activate TurnItIn on all MDES classes and that it should be "automatic on the blueprint." is this a thing that can happen? Turnitin is in all of our Canvas courses as the plagiarism option in the Assignments settings.

Patty, good luck on this. I want to follow the thread. We were created our courses and copying in content the API (we use Banner SIS) and that was fine. THEN, we adopted blueprint course functionality and now the IT department is moving very slowly on how to copy content through the API and ensure the blueprint association and synchronizing will work. We've been manually associating and synchronizing.

Thank you, James. We may hire a consultant to pull this data. Hopefully, Studio will have this functionality available for subscribers soon. We have a lot of time and money invested in our lecture videos (perhaps far too much), but I cannot easily get data to help inform me and the team if we are going to shift our focus to alternative ways of sharing lecture-type content with students. Jeff, thank you. I think it would be awesome to have this set up. I wish I had this information a few weeks back. We have licensed AsprireEDU Instructor Insight and Dropout Detective. That will hopefully be the solution that academic affairs needs. However, the problem with gathering viewership data for Canvas Studio without having to go into each specific course remains. We used to use ShareStream to host and archive our lecture videos, and we could get data from that environment. Studio is challenging. Do you have any solutions in mind?

Hello there. I attached what I found about Studio data. It is useful, but not what I need. I want to answer a question that will inform decisions about media production resources. My question is pretty basic. "Are students viewing our Canvas Studio videos in courses we developed with our SMEs in our course development workshop?" For example, a 12 module course may have 6 module-level lecture videos. I would want to know if students enrolled in that course are viewing the videos? Are they viewing all of them? Are they viewing them in real-time or perhaps fast-forwarding or skipping around? Is there a relationship to student video viewing and course grade? Do students who do not watch the videos have different course grades than students who do? And to make my dilemma harder, I'd want to know about Canvas Studio Video student user viewing throughout a program, not limited to just one of the courses in the program.

Jeff, thank you. These are the kind of reports we are looking for. Our IT department has been working on a data mart and reporting for a few years. We may have to go with an LTI solution like the one Aspire has called Instructor Insights or we may have to hire a consultant like you to help design reporting functionality with Data Portal and Banner (our SIS). Jeff, do you know how to get course or sub account level aggregate data about student viewing of Canvas Studio videos? Each video has Insights. We cannot collect viewing data one video at a time and all of the Studio Analytics seem to provide is data about upload numbers, storage, video length, and a few other things. If you do , let me know and we can talk about next steps.
