This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas
We would like to break the Course Content permission into 3 segments instead of all or nothing.
Course Content Add
Course Content Edit
Course Content Delete
This would allow for more flexiablity of course and account roles. Users can have the ability to edit content but not delete or add new.

We got confirmation from Canvas that this is not possble via SIS Import, we were able to do it via API.

Is it possible to move courses from a subaccount back to root level via SIS Import? We have a group of courses that are going to be blueprint courses so they need to be moved to the root level. Since this is many courses I want to use SIS Import but when I leave the account id empty, nothing happens.

There is currently no way to see what the total points are for your Total Final Grade as a professor. You have to go through each graded assignment and calculate yourself. There should be an easy way to see how many total points make up the Total Final Grade. If you have a course that should be 1000 points, there is no easy what to confirm the points for the course are correct. This would be extremly useful when making sure grades are correct in a course, that there are no extra assignments or graded items being counted. Maybe text in the Total Final Grade column stating the max number of points for the Total Final Grade.

@Stef_retired Yes, our IDs are currently using Act As but stated that student view is easier to work with. It also does not need enrollment in a course, which will help with Blueprint courses.

Currently the student View button for Account Admins is tied to the Course (Add/Edit/Delete) permission. Users must have this permission to have the student view button. We believe this permission should not be tied to the ablity to create/edit/delete courses since they are very different functionality. We would like the Student View be its own permission that we can set on or off for Account Admin roles. We also believe it would be benifical to have this permission for course roles giving admins the abilty to create a teacher based role that may or may not use student view.

Thank you for this post. I also just created a post in the community for something similar. We are trying to replicate student data in each of our facutly sandbox courses so they can practice how to interact with students. We are currently looking into a script that would access a list of courses and perform student activity.

Has anyone been able emulate student data in courses? In our training model for teachers, we would create a sandbox course that contained student data such as student submissions and discussion posts. The teacher would then need to grade and respond to these items to show they know how to use the system effectively.
In Blackoard we would restore a course and student data would be included. Canvas is unable to do this. Does anyone know a way to emulate student data in a course without having to do thing manually?
