Hi there I was wondering if there's a way to track number of students' clicks on a particular link on a page inside a course on Canvas? I know that the Analytic gives you the page visits stats but I need to tack the number of clicks on a link inside a page. Is there any way to do this without dealing with the API? Cheers, B

Hi there Single Sign On is enabled on our Canvas. So any student with our email can login into Canvas without any username and password. The users that this process creates on Canvas don't get user_id (sis id). Their SIS_ID will be blank on Canvas. When we create users by csv files we put their student number as their sis id. This creates duplicate user accounts for them on Canvas. One with sis_id and the other one without it. We have to merge them later on one by one. It is very annoying. How can this be solved? Hi I was thinking about creating a bunch of Blueprints via csv file on Canvas but I realised that there is actually no filed in the course creation CSV file for setting a course as a blueprint. You can only link a course to a blueprint bye specifying the blueprint id in "blueprint_course_id". But I couldn't find any way to create blueprints with CSV files. I think I have to got in the settings of each course one by one and set them as a blueprint. Does anyone know any way to set bunch of course as blueprints in bulk? Cheers, B

Hi again I found out why this is happening. That exclamation mark means that Canvas tried to reach the email address listed, but was unsuccessful so we put the email on a bounce list so that it does not get put on the AWS suppression list. In our case this has happened because we created the Canvas accounts before the email address was set up, so when Canvas attempted to send an email out soon after the account was created it failed because the email address did not exist yet. To fix this you should: 1. Go to "Admin Tools" and click on "Bounced emails" Tab and get the list of all the emails that have been bounced. 2. You need to confirm the active emails internally in your organisation first. 3. then you should reach out to Canvas Support and send them the users list and if you have confirmed that their emails are working they can get them removed from the bounce list. Hi Wondering if there is any account level report that shows all the unmarked assignments inside the subjects? I am thinking of something like ' Students with no submissions ' report. For example it could be called 'students with unmarked assignments'. We need such a report to monitor the teachers' marking activities. Cheers, B

Hi It's hard for the lecturers to identify the students who have set their 'Display Name' to something very different from their real name. Currently the teacher has to click on each student in the 'People' area inside the course one by one to see their Display name at the right panel. This is very time consuming. A column should be added inside the Course > People area for the 'Display Name' instead so the teacher would be able to see the real name and the 'Display Name' for all the students in a single page. The 'Attendance' area inside the course doesn't show the 'Display Name' either. This makes the lecturer to open multiple tabs and jump from People page to attendance page which is annoying. All these hassles can be eliminated by just adding the 'Display Name' to the 'People' area and the Attendance area inside courses. Regards Bobby N

Hi all Is it possible to include student numbers(Login-id) on Canvas Attendance page?? Currently they are just showing the names. Hi Our grade posting policy has been set to manual. We have received complains from a few of our lecturers about posting the grades. They mention that even when they chose to only post the grades to the Graded student in an assignment Canvas Gradebook post the assignment grades to everyone. This causes so much frustration as those students who have not marked yet receive a fail notification for that assignment. Wondering if this is a glitch or there is a setting that we are not aware of? anybody else has experienced this issue? Cheers, B

Hi all We need our lecturers to be able to add personal notes about their students somewhere on Canvas. Is there a Canvas builtin functionality or any App that let lecturers to add notes about the students? I am thinking of something like a diary about a students which is only accessible by the lecturer and not by the student. It could be a field in the student profile. Does anyone know anything that provides a functionality like this on Canvas? Cheers B

Hi all 1. Today it started hanging on loading 'Share Screen' functionality. Could not get it to share screen (although it did initially). Camera and audio were fine, so I don't think it was bandwidth. Also students could share their screens when I made them Presenter. I also created another Conference but had the same issue - no 'Screen Sharing'. 2. Mid-way through the Conference, I noticed that students were suddenly 'locked out'. I could switch them back easily enough, but am wondering why this is happening ( twice now)? This may be a BBB bug or even a hack? Does anyone know else experiencing these issue with BigBlueButton? Hi We use Big Blue Button for our online conferences on Canvas. A few lecturers have mentioned that there is a problem with BBB recording when they try to resume the recording after the class short break. BBB doesn't record the session after they resume the recording although the button at the top says recording. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Does anyone know the reason for this problem? Cheers
