Problem statement: Our institution is interested in expanding our badging program to our students, including those under the age of 13. The current Canvas Credentials license agreement does not allow for users under the age of 13 to use Canvas Credentials. Proposed solution: We would like to see an option added or change made to the license agreement that will allow for us to utilize Canvas Credentials for our students under the age of 13. We are currently utilizing the Canvas API to handle grade passback between Canvas and our SIS. There are certain assignment configurations that present challenges in how we code our grade passback, but we've learned to use the Assignment Overrides to handle a lot scenarios. Mastery Paths have proven challenging, but we're able to see that assignments are Mastery Path enabled assignments in the Title of the override, which enables us to apply certain logic to assignments with that type of override. Right now, we are unable to do the same with Course Pacing as the title of the override just says "No Title". It would be great if assignments that were a part of a course with Course Pacing enabled reflected Course Pacing in the override title. We would love to be able to utilize Course Pacing and having the information exposed in the title of the override would allow us to accommodate for Course Pacing with grade passback with minimal lift. Problem statement: Our institution has many schools with individual terms for each school, all within one Canvas instance. We're already up to 255 terms in use for this academic school year. When associating grading periods, the terms box is not searchable, I cannot type the name of the term partially or fully in order to find it, and this makes it challenging to find the correct term. Proposed solution: It would be much easier to find the correct term if I was able to type a partial or full term name to either search or to filter the terms menu when trying to associate terms with the grading periods. Our institution has over 1000 terms on one of our instances, and the terms menu on the Courses page has become pretty non-functional. There are times it does not load at all, or when it does load it can take a minute or more to load. We could use some improvements to the functionality that would help mitigate this issue. While we can type the term name in the box, we have to type it exactly as it is named. If the terms menu could be improved so that a partial search could be done instead of having to match the term name exactly, that would be very helpful. I did put in a ticket with Canvas support and here was their response: At this present time, we do not have a method in place that will resolve the behavior you are experiencing. The best solution to this behavior is to swap the dropdown menu with a search box once a certain threshold of terms has been passed. However, we do not have a function in the API to search for specific terms, and that function would be necessary for the creation of that solution. As adding that function is creating a brand new feature in Canvas and not repurposing or adjusting existing functionality, this would need to go through the feature idea process to be added to Canvas as a whole. ...
