Last week I suddenly found I could not edit my Canvas courses.  As it was my organisation's site, I contacted canvasadmin, who did not know why.  I also checked and found that the same thing had happened to my Free for Teacher account, so I figured it was probably something to do with my computer, and probably a win11 update.  So I rolled back to a previous restore point, and all was fine on both accounts.  Problem solved.... or so I thought. Today the same problem has arisen.  (I will describe below...).  I tried restore, but for some reason my computer refuses to roll back to the only available restore point.  So I am now faced with a growing number of courses I can't update, and no apparent solution.  I contacted help, and they couldn't be bothered to help, so I'm hoping someone here has a solution. Description of problem First of all, using the three dots at the end of the module heading does nothing, ie no dropdown menu.  Secondly, clicking the three dots at the end of each item line within the module simply shoots you up to the top of the screen, where 'add module' is highlighted.  I still think its likely to be a win11 update problem, but I don't know, and I haven't a clue how to cure it, short of resetting the computer. Is there anywhere I can turn when I've exhausted all the apparent steps to help a student who is stranded outside Canvas?  I'm a lone tutor, so don't send me to my organisation support.  I'm using free for teacher, which is fine as long as it works.  My problem is that even one student out of 50 or 60 who can't access the course causes stress for them and extra work for me. Examples:  One student can't get past the 'I'm not a robot' message - and I've even tried to walk him all through the steps via Zoom.  He's no longer a student because he was so frustrated, even though I compensated by sending him a google doc each week. One has 2 accounts, and logged in successfully in both accounts last term.  This term she can't get in via one gmail account because it says the account is being used by someone else.  I can't invite her because it says the account is being 'checked' for some reason.  Hoping her icloud account works this time, but it's very frustrating, and time-consuming for me if I have to prepare her google doc separately from the rest each week. In recent times, little help messages have appeared in my Canvas account - the 'help' button has not only been used to no avail, but it's directly over the editing buttons at the bottom of the page!  Tell me, is there any help whatsoever available?  I'm looking for an alternative, paid or otherwise, because Canvas has to work for all my students or none, but so far I'm drawing a blank on anything as useful as Canvas, and I'd really like it to work. ... Hello.  I am a lone teacher with a free for teacher account which is not connected to an institution.  I have partly prepared some courses which launch on 27th September, but now I can't access my account because your system says my password is incorrect. This is odd, because my system remembered the password which worked a few weeks ago.  Anyhow, I re-entered the password I have on record several times, checking it thoroughly, and still it was wrong.  So I clicked on 'forgot password' to reset.  I am always warned that a) this could take up to 30 minutes and b) to check my spam folder.  I have waited 30 minutes, then checked all my emails and my spam folder repeatedly today, and, several hours later, I am without my account. Must I abandon the work I have already done and seek another provider?  Or risk setting up an alternative account with Canvas that might shut me out in the same way?  I have left 3 messages in the Community and so far I'm getting nowhere.  The nearest I can find is 'click forgot password'.  There is no answer anywhere for the fact that this never yields me a reset email. ... I am exporting courses from my company's Canvas to my own private teacher account so as to preserve them for future use.  They seem to be exporting well, but of the three I've tried to import into my account, one has imported successfully, but of the other 2, one has stuck on "queued" (having previously stopped at 8% and refused to go further), and the last one has a green bar saying "uploading" which has remained static with all of the 'import content' info above it greyed out. I have a number of courses to export/import before the deadline at the end of the month, and I can't be doing with this all the time.  What is the problem?   ... View more
