[Peer Review] Assigning peer review for the same student Currently, if there is an issue with a peer review, I cannot assign a second peer review for the same student. The student assigned initially does not show in the drop down box for reassignment |

Peer reviewer cannot log in back to finish her peer review If for any reason, peer review is disconnected or wants to come back to finish his/her peer review, the system locks him out. Not many people can do their peer review in one session. |

@The_Viking My sincerest condolences for your school choosing Canvas over D2L. I have not worked with D2L, but you have summarized my experience in the past few years with Canvas, and honestly many other faculty across the globe. It has reached a point that I don't think they even care for the quality of their product or simply there are too many issues that they cannot handle it. I believe the product, even though has some good merits, has been distributed immaturely. The interesting thing is that recently they have even removed the button for the users to report any bugs or flaws (or as they call it suggest an "idea"), or they have hidden it under multiple layers that it cannot be found very easily. Frankly as you have noticed, it is not really worth the faculty or staff's valuable time to post and report any bugs or flaws. I see that this request was initiated in July 2019 and already has 62 votes.
When is Canvas going to implement ideas like this? Mind you this is not a request to add a "feature". This request/ticket is for fixing a "bug". Fixing an issue should have the highest priority and Canvas should not wait for getting enough "votes!"

I have never seen a vendor so indifferent to its customers' (in this case "higher education faculty") needs. And this topic/flaw is not the only one they have totally ignored.
@kyh802 is absolutely right. There is no point in telling this vendor about these issues and the flaws in their product. We are just wasting more valuable time. The response that my school gets from their so-called Customer "Success" Manager is not any better.
They have created a half cooked product and are not willing to fix the issues.
I assume it is good to be a monopoly.....and seeing the right people in the State Capitals, I guess?!

Cannot agree more! What is the point of having multiple attempts and giving students the option to see their incorrect answers when students most likely will get a different questions?
Well, I am so disappointed with Canvas' responsiveness to the faculty needs and requirements that I am sure this flaw will also linger forever! Again this request is NOT an enhancement to be addressed only if it gets enough votes, but this is a FLAW that should be fixed.....oh, well!

Totally agree! I have no idea why if one selects "Let students see their quiz responses after each attempt", the date to display the correct answers is disabled.
I want my students to see their incorrect choices after their first attempt, but not see the correct answers until everybody has taken the quiz and the quiz is closed at a certain date and time.

Very well said! Even though Canvas claims the idea is implemented, the same ambiguity still exists.
Furthermore, if one checks the option for students to see their incorrect answers, the option to set a date for them to see the correct answers is disabled which does not make any sense at all.

Thank you for your suggestion Stefanie, but this is EVEN LONGER and MORE TEDIOUS than uploading the files to different sections of the course one by one. I am afraid this is NOT a solution to alleviate the pain.

Thank you for your response, but this does not seem to be something that my school can change.
Here is an example where Canvas shows the full course name, code and section numbers, actually in two locations. So there is no real estate limitation if Canvas wants to do it.
And with all due respect, this is not the first time that Canvas refers me to the school's Canvas Admin. In the other case, where I reported that students cannot reopen their peer review if for any reason they close it or lose their connection, I was referred to my school admin and they could not do anything for the student. I could not even reassign the "same" peer review to give the student a second chance, because Canvas does not allow that. It does not let a self-assessment either.
Anyway, there is a LONG list of Canvas shortcomings. And many instructors like me, believe these are "flaws" in the design, not features that are "good" to have.

Hi Stephanie,
I am asking to show the course and section names on ALL pages. Furthermore, I don't know how one could conclude that this information is displayed on 'most' pages.
I am going to attach some "examples". Hopefully it will demonstrate this shortcoming.
FYI, all sections of a course could have the same name, the same semester name and number. However, a course like ESI5010 can have many sections like RX1, RXW, .....These are all different sections of the same course that are offered to different students, different modes or at different class times.

Here for instance I want to insert a media file that I have uploaded already.
The most recent file was not showing up. Search did not work either. I had to log out and back in several times to see the file.

There are many features in Canvas that are actually a bug stemming from VERY POOR DESIGN. What we are asking is NOT AN ENHANCEMENT that needs to be voted on.
I see that this thread has started in 2019. That's what happens when there is no oversight and the system relies on so-called self-regulation!

I believe this is more about fixing a bug rather than a new idea.

I have tried to search for the file, it still does not show. I have to log out and log in multiple times and if I am lucky I will find the file in the folder where it was saved as opposed to other files like Excel where the latest uploaded files are at the top of the drop down list.

Is it possible to have one common file repository for sections like this? As you know we cannot even copy and paste the contents from one section to another since the files between two sections cannot be shared, or we can share and we don't know how.
