Thanks for your response Kelley. This should be a feature. For the course I teach, an announcement would have to reproduce all the exam questions (30+) with multiple choice answers and explanation. That would be unwieldy. Unfortunately, the ideas section is "on pause" at the moment.

Thanks Greydon. As you noted, the fix does not include autosave so, if something happens that closes the Speedgrader or browser without formally exiting the data is lost. Also, I believe it does not include saving an incomplete rubric without submitting a grade to the student? If so, would that make this a feature request? Thanks.

Hi, This may be a feature request: Is it possible to autosave rubric scores and comments in speedgrader? This has happened to me a few times where I am grading an assignment with a rubric that has say 4 or 5 criteria and lose my data. Scenario 1 I'm at criteria 4 or 5 in a rubric and then I have to stop work (say for an appointment). If I save the incomplete rubric, the student sees an incomplete score, which often leads to anxiety and questions. It would be nice to be able to save an incomplete rubric for later completion and submission. Scenario 2 This happened today: I'm at criteria 4 or 5 and then I accidentally click a button/key that moves me to a new assignment. (I don't know what I clicked or how it happened). If I navigate back to the original assignment, all my prior comments in the rubric are lost. Either of the above problems could be avoided with an autosave or manual save option in rubrics that allows the user to save and keep working on the rubric without submitting a score to the student. It seems that new quizzes can take up to 24 hours to generate an item analysis? Is there anyway to get around that and see sooner how students performed? The situation: I gave an exam this morning. When we used Blackboard, I could see the exam statistics immediately, make changes to question grading as needed (e.g., make some questions extra credit if they were too hard or remove some if they seemed ambiguous) and have the grades out to students the same day. But, with CANVAS, it looks like I will not be able to start working on grading the exam till the next day after the item analysis report is generated, which can take up to 24 hours? (Currently, it is 3 hours and counting since I gave the exam). Is there anyway to speed this up? If not, can this be a feature request i.e., it should not take 24 hours to be able to see how students did on each question in a quiz? I believe classic quizzes allow you to see student aggregate performance per question immediately. Something like that for new quizzes would be very helpful even if it does not include all the statistics (reliability, difficulty, etc.). Unfortunately, it seems like, by making the item analysis report the only way for instructors to see how students answered new quiz questions, some of the basic functionality of being able to quickly see what percentage of students chose each answer is lost? Or, if I am mistaken, please correct me. Thanks!

Hello, Is it possible to set up an open-ended question to assign full credit and to be able to choose that option either before or after students have responded. This was possible in Blackboard and oh so convenient. Example: I assign a quiz with an open-ended question intended to collect students' thoughts on a topic. It is graded in order to encourage students to respond thoughtfully. 150 students respond. I am able to download all their responses via the student analysis and scan the spreadsheet to see that all of the students provided a reasonable response. Now I want to go into the quiz and set that question to give all students full credit. Can I do this now without having to go through and manually grade the 150 responses? If yes, please do tell how! If no, please, please, pretty please for the love of God make this a high priority new feature? Saving anyone from doing something 150 times -- c'mon, what could be more important?

I just wanted to second Rachel's request. This is an incredibly helpful feature to have. (It is available in Blackboard.) While I appreciate the suggested workarounds, there really is no replacement for just allowing the option to assign full credit for all responses to an open-ended question. It is a huge time saver for instructors and I suspect many will appreciate this. Thanks.

As of today, according to CANVAS support, this issue is still not fixed and was not included in the fixes made as part of the request you linked to above.

I also support this idea. I hope the folks at instructure realize that when an idea like this is open for 7 years it makes it hard to believe that posting to these forums is a good use of time.

I agree, it would be very helpful to be see what the assignments in a group total to. For many of us, this is part of how we design the course and or check that we have created and correctly assigned points to all the assignments and not missed anything. In Blackboard, this feature is implemented with assignment categories, and the user can create a total column for any category to see what the total possible points are. Those columns can also be used to help students to see their total score in a category, which students also find very useful. I think this item should not be considered "solved" but should rather be a feature request if it is not currently possible to see assignment group totals.

I agree. It should be possible to drag both criteria and ratings without having to resort to installing or writing script.
