@JigmetYangchan , wondering if you've managed to find a solution to this?
We've been using Canvas surveys (it can be done without grading in Classic Quizzes), but with that option going away in the next year-ish... we're on the hunt for a new solution.

The ability to exclude an assignment from the penalty (without having to do it grade by grade) would be terrific! IMO, it should have been included from the beginning.

Yep! We're now having to adjust a course setup on the fly to avoid the issue as we can't manually fix this for over 500 students.

I've just had a similar situation - the student took the quiz on time and then retook it late for practice (allowed). The student's late submission (pre-deduction) had the highest score. However, with the deduction, it was lower than his previous score. Canvas still gave him the late score with deduction such that he lost points he should not have. Again, yes it can be exempted. However, with 9 quizzes that have this setting and over 500 students in the course, that's not a realistic option.
