Margarita Chavez – Children's Book Author & Pre-K Educator Margarita Chavez is a dedicated pre-K teacher, children’s book author, and the creative force behind Prekstories LLC. With over seven years of experience in early childhood education and a master’s degree in the field, Margarita has a gift for turning everyday classroom moments into imaginative, educational stories that resonate with young readers and the grownups who guide them. She has written and published 20 children’s books that celebrate diversity, social-emotional growth, creativity, and learning through play. Her titles—such as Dirty Diego’s Dirty Dilemma, My Mischievous Milagros, Pauline the Puerto Rican Pirate and Her Parrot Pepe, and Embrace Your Stripes—are known for their vibrant characters, rhythmic language, and classroom-ready activities. Margarita’s books are not only fun and engaging but also include tools for educators and parents—like reading comprehension questions, curriculum-aligned content, and hands-on activities—to make learning seamless and meaningful. Inspired by her students, cultural heritage, and real-life experiences, Margarita is passionate about giving all children a chance to see themselves reflected in the stories they read. Through Prekstories LLC, she continues to write, publish, and share stories that teach, uplift, and inspire.
