In my course, students work in Google docs throughout the semester. I would like a central repository for persistent links to Google docs used by the class. |

I have technical access to do all of those things if I really wanted to.
I could create a regular discussion for the Module 0 discussion.
But the key problem remains: the limits of discussion functionality in Canvas. New discussions are slightly better than old discussions in Canvas, for being able to clearly see, sort and organize threads in a more topical way. And I'll use the new discussions feature myself for this reason.
But they're not good enough. I need to be able to title each thread.
While there are many downsides to Blackboard, it used to let you do this.

The New Discussions feature seems to address the issue I was concerned about at least a little better--you can tie replies to one question. However, there's no way to title that "topic." There is one discussion called Community Forum in the module 0 of all of our classes. It persists as "the" channel for student questions all semester. If I create multiple copies of this, one for each week, I'll have to follow all of them.
The issue I'm talking about is the one you cite here: " As DeAnneAnderson notes: " Currently, it is set up to simply "reply" but it is hard to follow or trace responses to a certain person or topic. ""
Threaded replies doesn't work as desired to fix this (if you have 200 students).

I have the same use case as Barbara. Community Forum is unusable because it gets too messy over the course of a whole semester. I want to have themed discussion threads that can be closed or opened once the whole class is past a certain issue.

This is a hugely important feature. We all need this badly and I want to add my vote to this.

That's great except I have more than 200 students and I want them all to see the shared docs. And they are sometimes slides or docs or spreadsheets--it's a mix.
I usually use the setting that makes the files visible to anyone at ASU to ensure all students can see the docs without individually authorizing them. Is there a way to see a shared Google drive, with the list of docs in it through Canvas?

I want to be able to grade half of the rubric line items (the subjective ones), save those, then have a grader come in behind and grade the objective pieces of the rubric.
