Bio:
Hi, I’m Kevin (he/him), an instructional designer passionate about helping faculty create engaging, flexible, and accessible learning experiences. I thrive on using technology and design strategies to foster meaningful interactions in online, in-person, and hybrid learning environments. Whether I’m supporting faculty with course design or curating instructional materials, my focus is always on enhancing teaching and learning, and improving student outcomes.
In my current role, I draw on my knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional technologies, and project management to deliver customized solutions that meet the needs of diverse learners. I enjoy the challenge of integrating multimedia tools, managing learning management systems like Canvas, and providing faculty with the support they need to succeed.
When I'm not immersed in instructional design, you can find me indulging in my hobbies, which include photography, homebrewing, and exploring the world of craft beer. I'm also a lifelong Star Wars fan (the original trilogy holds a special place in my heart) and an avid outdoor enthusiast. I love to kayak the James River, experiment with my sourdough starter (going strong since 2018), and discover new strategy board games with my family. Above all, I cherish my role as a proud girl dad (x2), which brings me the most joy in life.
I bring creativity, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset to all aspects of instructional design, continuously learning and evolving in this ever-changing field. My goal is to make learning not only effective but also enjoyable, ensuring that all learners—whether in a traditional classroom or online—have the tools and resources they need to thrive. Whether it’s creating dynamic learning experiences or supporting faculty with the tools they need, my goal is to foster an environment where learning thrives.
