Bio:
Dr. John C. Horgan earned his B.A. in history and political science at Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his M.A. in history at Marquette University and Doctor of Arts in Modern World History at St. John’s University in New York, New York. He presently is employed as an assistant professor of history at Concordia University-Wisconsin in Mequon, WI.
At Concordia he teaches courses in the Non-Western World, Modern Europe, the French Revolution & Napoleon, the Nazis & the Holocaust, Modern Africa, and specialty courses concerning food, epidemics, monsters, superheroes and pirates. His research and publishing efforts focus upon epidemics in world history and the history of food. He is a regular contributor to the online World History Encyclopedia. His most recent articles include the germ theory, the history of penicillin, and the Columbian Exchange.
