Hello to all: I am LJ Steele, and I am a retired teacher who taught for many years. I have a lot of experience in both a classroom setting and also in a museum setting. And I am also a certified teacher K12 with G Certification. I am here to learn how to use CANVAS in an online setting as either a K12educator or as a tutor. I am a graduate of NCCU with a master's degree in American History. My mom was also a K12 educator and a history major who did her student teaching in a historically black high school in East Spencer, NC, which is located in Salisbury, NC. She and I are both alumni of NCCU, with my mom being a legacy Eagle, a teacher, and a school librarian. My dad was a WWII veteran, a Mechanical Engineering major at NC A&T State University in Greensboro, and he owned his own business from 1951 until we went out of business in 1994. He also worked for the Norfolk Southern Railroad for many years and retired from the Linwood Branch of Norfolk Southern Railroad in Davidson County, NC, in the Computer Room in 1983. I have three brothers, with the oldest dying from natural causes in the summer of 2025, three nieces, and a lovely sister-in-law who I consider my sister. So happy to finally receive a chance to learn how to use CANVAS. LJ Steele
