It used to work - a year or more ago.  With one of the updates (maybe the new Rich Text Editor?) it stopped being possible. 

Still waiting and very much wanting this feature - for advising, predicting, and overall peace of mind without having students see all the various grades I'm entering.  Seriously, 2016 and nothing has...

I'm not dead...yet. Not sure I like the "yet". But yes, change to a pencil for compose/edit, a red pencil for edit or red strikethrough text. Or just "edit" since that is what students see in the pull...
