@beavey I'm aware it's an imperfect solution. I work in vocational training where we only grade for Competent/Not Competent (100%/<100%) and learners are granted additional attempts to achieve this in concert with tuition and pastoral care. The release submission back is near useless for us as the feedback and scoring that our graders enter is removed from the assessment so learners have nothing to go on, so we release them a new blank attempt which is nearly, but not quite, as useless.

Our institution is about to go through and change every course we have ever created to manual posting as auto-posting has caused us untold amounts of grief but we didn't know any better until now. Two and a half years after implementaiton.
It goes without saying that being able to force this policy at the account level would be hugely beneficial.

@cindyk if you are using New Quizzes, you are able to reopen the latest submission using the Moderate tab in the New Quiz tool:

@Steven_S thanks for the ideas, unfortunately, what we're attempting to combat by requiring answers to every question in a quiz before allowing submission is to save our graders time - there's no point in them grading a submission that doesn't have all questions in a quiz answered. Your point about the module requirement rules is a timely reminder though as we're currently redeveloping how we design course content in Canvas to deliver each unit standard.

This would be of huge assistance for vocational training where all questions must be graded a pass in order to pass the unit.

Many of my institution's original quizzes use this function, if it was able to be ported to new quizzes and included in the migration tool it would save us a lot of time and resource.

Our organisation designs and delivers assessments and standards in conjunction with support from our national industries in the form of SMEs and the approval of our regulatory body (NZQA). There is currently a five-year review cycle for each of these Unit Standards. Our problem is that we currently have no reliable method to gather non-critical feedback on our unit standard design over that period of time. For critical issues/broken content users will raise a ticket, but I would like to explore ideas for gathering asynchronous feedback from learners and training support staff at the Course level in Canvas - ideally a universal button or link in the same place on each course or something, and I was wondering if anyone had solved this issue before? The following are items we've looked at so far: Survey Monkey We've thought about adding a survey link to each course but run into issues collating that feedback over a five year period Canvas Discussions The Discussions (which is less of a discussion and more of an old school online forum) feature isn't really suitable because it can be viewed by all and sundry so stifles honest feedback, and our learners lack an appetite to use the function as from an apprentices' point of view it's complex and more work than they're prepared to undertake Quiz Tool I read elsewhere in the wider Canvas community that others have used a quiz for this function, however, this adds additional columns and complexity to the Gradebook for our assessors and learners.
