We use GoSignMeUp to register students and in running some tests, there seems to be an issue related to new users creating accounts. It appears that Canvas has depreciated some elements related to "self-registration" and I am wondering if that could be to blame and/or if anyone could shed any light on the issue. As far as I understand, when a new user registers via GoSignMeUp it activates the [force_self_registration] tag in order to send a "create your account" email to the user. However in the tests that I've run (with novel users and email addresses) it is instead sending a course invitation email and the user cannot login because they have not set up their Canvas account password. Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

We are looking into ways to display the activity that occurs in one of our courses publicly. Much like a student gets notifications, we'd like to push those notifications out to a public website. I've been looking into what I can do via an RSS feed however besides announcements, I'm not seeing much. Does anyone have experience or ideas about how to create an RSS feed based on course activity?

We have not used roll call at all yet and are looking into what it can accomplish. Can anyone speak to whether it can be used to require that students attend one or more zoom meetings as requirements within a module?

A teacher who I am working with has all of his videos (not an insignificant amount) stored using Amazon S3. The issue is that the player that he uses to display the videos on his website is not compatible with Canvas. Has anyone had any success display Amazon S3 hosted videos in a Canvas course? I'd love any solutions or potential work-arounds.

In some instances such as students registering late for a course, I am adding them manually in the UI rather than via a csv import. I am having trouble assigning users their SIS ID this way, seeing no option when I add them and not being able to add it retroactively without changing their password. Any thoughts?

Hi, Has anyone been able to copy a group within a group set? I am trying to create a template for teachers to work with students within groups and be able to copy it when a new group needs to be created. So far I haven't been able to find a way. Thanks!

Hi, I have a somewhat complex need and am hoping for some help. Students are using audio and video as submissions to a course assignment. I am trying to find where the url's of those submissions are so that I can embed them as media on another page. Is there somewhere I have access to (admin level designer) where those url's are visible? To put it another way, here is what I'm trying to do: Student submits "video a" as an assignment -> "video a" url is copied -> "video a" is embedded on a page I've been able to find the urls individually by inspecting the page source but am ho#ping there's a way to see them listed rather than going through one by one. Thank you!

I am trying to enable usage rights in a course such that I can make folders within the "files" section visible or invisible to students. I cannot find the settings to do so anywhere, I have admin access to the instance but have not seen the setting at the course, sub account or account level. Please help! Thank you

Perhaps you can help actually (and I appreciate the response as well). I am in need of someone who is going to be capable of formatting my existing themes into those CSS/Java files that can be uploaded as the mobile themes. Is there somewhere that you know of where I can put out a request to Canvas savvy developers to hire for a small project such as this? Thank you

Hello, I manage several sub-accounts and want to make the themes on the mobile app consistent with those on the web. As of right now I have adjusted the theme using the theme editor which looks great on the web however all of the sub-accounts are still themed as the root account on the mobile app. From what I'm seeing on the forums, it looks like uploading custom CSS or Javascript into the "Mobile App CSS/Mobile App Javascript" section is the way to go, but would like confirmation. Thank you.
