Thanks Scott – some great things to think about. You have hit upon what I both love and hate about the covid disruption – a chance to question EVERYTHING about what we are trying to assess in the environment you have discussed. I am also mindful of managing this time for students – both to provide broader possibilities for them to demonstrate their learning but also to manage what has been a huge pedagogical shift for them (amid a climate of major uncertainty).

Thanks Chris for your quick response. After I made that post I found that the video had been embedded. I think I have come to the conclusion that this is just a bit slow (understandable with all the canvas traffic right now!). The process I followed was: 1. Create video using media using rich content editor 2. Provide a name and hit ‘save’ After that, it was embedded. Not sure where the video ‘sits’ in the background though. It took probably 10 min.

I am looking to set an economics task where I want students to show their understanding through drawing diagrams on paper so that it can be done in timed conditions. What is the easiest way for students to do this (while working under a bit of pressure from timed conditions)?. Is there a way for students to activate their device camera to take a photo as a file submission or do they have to photograph the graph they drew, save the file somewhere and then submit it that way? This is to cater for students learning remotely. Looking to have multiple submissions for the task.
