I copied one of my own courses so I could create another section for a different grade band and my edits are showing up in the original course. Any ideas as to what I have done wrong?

Copied Courses are somehow linked to one another and changes reflect immediately.  I checked under settings > sections and neither have any cross sections listed.  I am very new to this and we are ...

I am making the changes AFTER I copied, but they are for sure changing on BOTH.  I do not want this to happen and they are not cross-listed.  These are courses offered for two different grade bands so...
