The solution is not on the Instructor Guide to New Quizzes. There is no mention of images for question in there unless I am missing it somehow?

When a faculty member selects “restrict student view after course end” in the settings of a course site, the student can no longer see the course in their past enrollment list from "All Courses" view....
You can restrict students from viewing courses after the term end date by selecting that option in course site settings. It removes it from their all courses>past enrollments list.
