What Robbie said is good advice. If it works in incognito mode, then it is likely an extension or cookie issue.
My @kona was complaining yesterday about several things not working.
The first issue was with the document previewer inside Chrome. I saw that she had an ad blocker that was blocking some of the sites that Canvas needed to access. I had her just turn off the ad blocker completely for Canvas and then it started working.
If that didn't work, I would have tried expressly allowing cookies from some of the secondary sites that Canvas uses.
Later in the day, she came back with "it's not working again." This is when I had her go into incognito mode and it worked. Now I strongly suspect it's an extension or cookie issue, especially since it was working in Firefox. We went back into Canvas and I had her disable or remove some of the extensions that she didn't use very often or that weren't well known.
She eliminated / disabled about four of them and we tried it again and Canvas was working again. I had her go back into extensions and enable the one that I was least familiar with and retry and Canvas stopped working. We tried disabling / reenabling it several times and got consistent results. It was definitely an extension that was causing the problem. We left it disabled and she went on her way.
She was lucky to guess the correct extension the first time. What I would have done is enabled half of them and see if the problem still existed. If it was fixed, then I would turn on another half of them (1/4 of the original) until I noticed that it stopped working. Once it was working, I would reverse the process and disable half of the ones that I had just enabled until I found the one that was causing the issues.
Then this morning, she complained that SpeedGrader wasn't working. She went through the process I had initiated yesterday and this time completely removed the offending extension (that she had been using for years) and it started working properly.
I don't know what extensions you have enabled, but her issue was with the Honey extension. Even if you don't have that one installed, the process is what led to a solution.
