Rubrics (Admins) Video Script
In this video, you will learn how to create and manage Rubrics on the account level in Canvas. Rubrics created at the account level are available to all sub-accounts of that account and can be shared by courses associated with that account or sub-account.
To get started, click the Admin button in Global Navigation and select the account you’d like to use. Then click Rubrics in the Account Navigation menu. To create a new rubric, click the Add Rubric button. Add a rubric title in the Title field. To modify the default criteria, click the Edit icon and add a description and, if necessary, a long description. Then click the Update Criterion button to save your changes. To delete a criterion, click the Delete icon. To add a point range to the criterion, click the Range check box. To edit an existing rating, click the Edit icon. Add or edit the point value in the rating score field and add a title and description in the Rating Title and Rating Description fields. When finished, click the Update Rating button. To add an additional rubric rating, click the Add icon. To modify the total point value of a criterion, use the Points field. Note that changing the total point value will automatically update the highest rating in the criterion. Create additional criterion by clicking the Add Criterion link. You can add new criterion or duplicate an existing criterion in the rubric. To add an outcome to the rubric, click the Find Outcome link. Select the appropriate outcome and click the Import button. When you are ready to save your rubric, click the Create Rubric button.
To edit or delete an existing Rubric, open the rubric by clicking on the rubric’s title. To edit the rubric, click the Edit Rubric button. Please note that if a rubric has been used to assess a course assignment, it cannot be edited. To delete the rubric, click the Delete Rubric button.
