API in OpenAPI format

Currently the API is exposed in Swagger 1.2 format. Exposing it in the OpenAPI (Swagger 2.0) format would allow for the easy creation of MS Flow Connectors in Office 365 and similar connectors on other platforms.

This has been a problem for our dev shop.  Canvas is typically great with standards, but this has been a problem for a while.  Canvas API and Swagger  has older information on the same topic.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
