Hi,
Apologies if this has been answered before, I did search but couldn't find the question.
A teacher has come to me with a problem, when editing the front page of his course and saving, the changes aren't there. I tested this and saw that any changes I made on the page weren't saved. (I added 2017 to the timetables as a test but when I went back to the homepage, it wasn't visible).
I thought the problem maybe to do with the file storage, as this has happened on a previous course before but even after allowing the course more storage, the page wasn't saving the edits.
Does anyone have a solution?

Hi Ken,
Thanks for this reply, just fixed the course. It was something to do with the HTML coding for the base layout of the page. I had to manually add each section in.
All sorted now though, I will make a note of this if it happens again in the future! ![]()
Hi @charlotte_gree1 - That is definitely odd behavior. Since it's also not working for you (I assume you're an admin) I can only think of a few things to do a quick check of before contacting Canvas support (Help>>Report a Problem):
If none of the above works, it may well be time to submit a Support case with Canvas.
Let us in the Community know how it goes, Charlotte!

My front page will not save changes either on each module. Please change the HTML for me too. Thanks for all you do.
Hello.
My same issue is not on a front page, but in an assignment page. I have updated the corrected information and input a new end due date, but Canvas does not save it. If I refresh the page, I am offered an "auto-saved" version, but it still does not save it for the students to see, nor will it save the new due date.
I do not know enough about HTML to fix it, but I am great at following step-by-step directions. Where would I find that HTML fix, please?
I had a very similar problem. I edited the Home Page of my course to add course number, etc. I saved the changes. I viewed all pages and went back to the home page--the changes weren't there. I repeated this a couple of times and noticed that in addition to the changes not being saved, the "Last Edit" date on the Pages page was not changing.
I did the edits one more time and this time I clicked "Save and Publish". Voila, the changes have been made!
I also found that if I did another change and clicked "Save", the page was updated.
p.s. In my case, the support people had just populated the course with the content from last year's course page.
