My World Languages teachers have pointed out to me that the ALT key is no longer any good to add accents to words when editing New Quizzes. One sent me this screenshot
Has anybody found a solution? Thanks
@josh_miller I don't have a Chromebook to test this, but my Google search indicates that students should be able to switch to a different keyboard to type in accents: Choose keyboard language & special characters - Chromebook Help
Once New Quizzes switches to the standard Rich Content Editor that displays everywhere else in Canvas, this isn't likely to be an ongoing issue.
Thank you Stefanie! Once I sent the page and created a video for them they clarified for me that the issue I is not with student Chromebooks it is with their computers while they are editing...
Thank you for your help I learned some cool new tricks, now back to the beginning. (I really need to ask clarification questions)
Hi. I'm the teacher that raised this issue. My students already know how to use the INTL keyboard. But certain letters (ñ, ¿, ¡) can ONLY be typed using the right alt key. When the right alt key is pressed we get the message that is shown in the question from Josh. The problem occurs on student chromebooks and on my PC when I am writing the quiz. I was just locked out of a quiz i was writing because i forgot and hit the alt key. This is a serious issue for second language teachers.
I had to send this to the Canvas Help Desk. I am awaiting their reply. As soon as I receive one I will post it here.
