Hello  @epitterman  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  This link is more for instructors, but it explains the join code you are asking about: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13116-415274473  I would recommend that you reach out to your instructor or someone at your school who is a local Canvas administrator if you are not able to get into the course(s) you're taking.

If you are a student, then your instructor would typically provide the join code to you ... or would provide you with a unique URL for your course so that you could get access to it.
