We are hoping to be signing with Canvas and beginning our transition from Blackboard to Canvas Spring 2020 for a go live date Summer 2021.

Does Canvas have any comparable features that are part of the core product or could you recommend products to fill the gaps (if any)?  Trying to keep costs down.

I saw some used Ally as well as Collaborate but looking for lesser cost options.

Hi  @guilera .  For analytics you might check out the existing information on analytics ( https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10460-canvas-instructor-guide-table-of-contents#jive_conten...) as well as the information posted about Analytics Beta (Analytics Beta - Table of Contents).  I have been very happy about the information I can get from Canvas in terms of analytics and look forward ot using Analytics Beta more in the future!

Regarding plagiarism, this post has some good information on 3rd party software that works well with Canvas, how to check Plagiarism on Canvas?.   We have TurnItIn at my institution and have been happy with the integration to Canvas.  I know of others that use other software, but in conversations with them they seem similarly satisfied with how they function within Canvas.

Canvas does have a built in videoconferencing tool called BigBlueButton (see the information on Conferences here, https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10460-canvas-instructor-guide-table-of-contents#jive_conten...).  There are free and paid versions of BBB, and some institutions will use other other videoconferencing tools, such as Zoom, that they integration within Canvas.

About accessibility, if you haven't already done so, you might check the information found on this page, Accessibility within Canvas  and consider joining this Accessibility‌ user group.  You might also read about the accessibility checker in the Rich Content Editor, https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13345-4152808104

Hi,  @guilera ‌! Eric has given you a comprehensive set of resources (thanks, Eric!). On the accessibility front, I'd ad that A11y integrates with Canvas. In addition, you might want to explore UCF's UDOIT tool. Once you've made your decision and have migrated your courses to Canvas, this is a good resource for course review: How to Fix and Prevent Accessibility Issues in Your Canvas Course

I will also add to the wonderful suggestions from stefaniesanders and ericwerth  that an ALLY integration is available for Canvas. In fact, ALLY was originally developed to use in Canvas, when Blackboard bought the small UK startup.  Great product!
