The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Canvas should add he/they and she/they pronouns to the profile settings page. While it's great that they have he/him, she/her and they/them, some people (such as myself!) use more than one pronoun interchangeably and these options erase that part of my identity. Additionally, there should be an "Any pronouns" option, or possibly just a space where you can write in your pronouns instead of a drop-down menu. Thank you!

Pronouns can be configured by your school's local Canvas administrator at your school. You'll want to speak to that person or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to see if they would be willing to add those options for you and other students/instructors at your school.
