[ARCHIVED] Adding an audit student

I want to add a student manually to my subject who will sit in classes, but not take assessments. Should I add them under People>+People>Auditor? Thanks, Wally

Hi  @wsmith6  Welcome to the Canvas Community!

While we are a rather large global community full of lots and lots of very smart folks, we really cannot answer this question.  This will depend on your school's policies, and how they have defined the permissions sets for roles.

This will be different for almost every school. For example, my school does not permit course auditing. In fact, my school does not permit faculty to add users to their courses.

I suggest talking with your Dean, or your Canvas Admin/Support Department.
