[ARCHIVED] Adding points to Exam grade

If I imported grades from external exam into Canvas, and decide to throw out a question and add points for it to whole class, is there a way to do this without downloading Excel out of Canvas, adjusting grades then re-uploading them. This is the first grade system I have seen where Main grade book doesn't have simple "add points to all who do not have 0" function for each grade item.

 @anica_d_lee , greetings! No, unfortunately, the closest Canvas has to this is to "curve" grades in the gradebook and that wouldn't do what you want it to do.

You can add a "Test Extra Points" column with "0" points assigned and then give them the points they earned. Personally, I downloaded the gradebook, added a new column for "Test Extra Points", then uploaded it back (so that all the student names were there and in the correct format). 

NOTE #1: All uploads (for some reason) go into ASSIGNMENTS. That's OK. Once they're all uploaded (Tests/Finals/EC Points), simply move them to the category that they are supposed to go in.

NOTE #2: You have to add the "0" points into a category that exists - it can't be its own category as you can't divide by 0.

Thanks. Yes, I found that the best way to do it is Bonus points column. I drop an exam so I like anyway that idea because they earn their bonus points so I do not want them to loose those if they drop that exam

I agree that this is a good way to add extra credit to a course, but this solution can be messy when it comes to quizzes where you want to allow students to be able to review their answers to a quiz or exam.  Students can be confused by seeing a lower score when reviewing their quiz because the bonus column's fudge points are not included.

That said, fudge points would work in a small class, but when the class size gets to be in the 100+ range it can become a tedious task.  It would be nice if there was a baked-in way to add fudge points en masse.
