Hello to the Canvas community. I was wondering if there is a way to import Quizzes from a Word document into Canvas Quizzes?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @cobal_3333 . This question comes up rather frequently. The short answer is no, at least not directly. There is an open idea for this feature that you might consider voting for, https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/2086-create-question-banks-from-msword" modifiedtitle="true" t.... The longer answer is that you can use Respondus to go from the Word file to a format that can be imported into Canvas. This process was described nicely by @James in this post, I need to convert a Microsoft document quiz to Canvas.
I hope this helps and best wishes!

YES THE quizzing is very helpful and most serenly I am passing some of them????
please know this is quite the super dictating style and I love this approach to media
You can use https://digitaliser.getmarked.ai/. It can converts docx into QTI directly without you having to conform to a certain way of formating your questions. I use it myself, its pretty neat.
The best solution is probably at San Diego State:
http://ec2-34-207-154-191.compute-1.amazonaws.com/
Copy your word doc to plain TEXT
Format the word document with numbers and letters for answers (as mentioned in their site)
Import the txt document to SDSU
Use the resulting zip file for an upload.
More information can be found here:
(I do not regularly check responses on this forum)
The San Diego State solution works great! It also allows you to skip Respondus.
Yes, the best solution and I have been using it for some time. Would it still work with new quizzes?
You can create a Classic Quizzes then migrate it to New Quizzes
Thank you@jerry_nguyen - yes, it worked this way. I also created an item bank, imported content/QTI.zip file, then created a new quiz.
