[ARCHIVED] Announcements not visible to students

For some reason, Announcements is not visible to students - and I have not put it in the "not visible" category.  How make visible?

Hi  @mayella , do you have any announcements posted in your course yet? Certain navigation items, even when enabled in your course settings, will not appear for students while they are empty.

We are also having this problem. Announcements have been enabled, but the link is not visible in the navigation menu to students. Further, when we post announcements, they are showing up under the "To Do" list -- but students can't click on them or view them.

I tried the workaround with allowing announcements on the Homepage but students cannot see those, either. This appears to be a recent issue. I'm open to suggestions!
