I have just added a person under people.  I cannot find how to give her permission as course developer.  I have checked the guides and the question databank and nothing I have seen has helped me.

Hi  @drdion 

If your school policies permit this, then you can change the users role in your Peoples index page. This guide will get you there https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26311-how-do-i-edit-user-roles-in-a-course 

If that functionality is not present, then this permission has been restricted by your school, and you will have to contact your Canvas Admin to get it done.

Thanks Kelley - I wanted to give the person the course designer role that she can create the courses for me. I am the admin / owner of the company and have full access. I did try to add her as a course developer and it didn't work.  Cheers - Dion

As an Admin, you would need to first create an Account-level role for Developer, then give that role the appropriate permissions. Then add that user to that role, and their permissions would carry over to all courses they access. I would suggest checking out the Roles and Permissions Chapter of the Canvas Admin Guide, but specifically look at this one How do I add an account-level role in the Permissions page? 

If you wish this developer to have the ability to create courses, then make that person an admin and limit permissions as appropriate https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10777-421443005
