When my students submitted their assignment on my Android app by uploading a photo from their mobile, they always failed and the system responded with nothing but "401".
What can they do?
Hi @bewspc ,
I haven't come across this issue before, hwoever an error 401 is a http reporting code similar to 404 not found: 401 Unauthorized Error: What It Is and How to Fix It only in this instance its 401 unauthorised.
My first thought on the matter is have you limited the file types that are allowed to be uploaded? Phones can save images in all manner of file extensions, so it is probably best to keep the submission options open.
Next I would try having them upload the photo using their phone's web browser rather than the app.
If that step works then try uninstalling and reinstalling the student app to see if that fixes it. The app could also need updating.
If that still doesn't work have them send it to themselves via email or uploading it to cloud storage then try uploading it via a different device.
I hope one of these solutions works, let us know how it goes.
Stephen
