The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Each of our home page templates includes term start and end dates, highlighted, for every instructor to edit each term.
How can we access these term dates (from course settings) to display via html on the page?

Dan,
I don't think it's possible but it would be an awesome feature. Before Canvas I worked at a school who used Angel LMS which had this type of feature, which was really cool. It used tokens for like $First_name, which you could insert on any page have it call out the first name of the logged in user.
Anyway, sadly I don't think Canvas has this functionality but I'm fairly certain I've seen it requested over the years. It might be possible with some sort of API call to get the information and display it, but I'm not the right one to help with that.
