Can the color for the Dashboard icon for the course be clear?  I want the colors on the image I uploaded to be true colors.  Perhaps you can tell me the code for "no color"?

The color overlay on course cards is a user-controlled preference. Users can remove the colors from their own course card view by clicking on the three-dot menu at the upper right and deselecting "Cover Overlay." This is detailed in the Change Dashboard View section of How do I use the Dashboard as a student? (same process for teachers).

When I was teaching, and to be cognizant of users' individual color preferences for their course cards, I used black and white images whenever possible.

Thank you Stephanie!  I did not think it was a setting for the entire Dashboard, all or nothing.  I would prefer if it could be chosen for each course in the course card.  So now I have removed all color layovers for my Dashboard, but each user will have their own choice.  We have a Canvas site set up for our department and wanted the image to be the cover image of our Dept webpage -- which has many colors.

I see your point about black and white if it is the user choice of color overlay.

Yes, I know how to do that, thanks. But because of my dashboard settings,

the colorful image was behind a color overlay, so did not look good.
