[ARCHIVED] Cant clear unread announcement indicator

Is there a way to clear an unread announcement that isn't accessible? I think my instructor published different announcements to certain groups and one mistakenly went to the wrong people and was later removed or hidden from us. I've ended up with a symbol indicating 1 unread announcement for the course, but when I click through I can only see the announcements I've already read, no new ones. Has been like that for a week or so now.

If it has not resolved itself you may need to clear the cache or cookies in your browser

Interestingly it did resolve itself after a month or so, but then another instructor for a different class started using groups in the discussion board, and now I have the same problem with an unread discussion board comment that I'm unable to see or clear instead of an announcement. Clearing cache/cookies doesn't do anything, the issue persists no matter what computer I'm using, so its server side.

Ok, if it is still persisting in another course, please go to that course and use the help menu on the left to 'report a problem'. This will notify our support team.
