Hello,
We're just exploring Canvas Conferences and notice that when we upload our Powerpoint presentations, we lose embedded website links within the ppt, thus unable to share them with our students in the conference. The only work-around we've found is sharing the links in the chat feature. However, this is less than ideal, because while it gets the links to the students, the instructor is unable to actually share and review within the lecture. Is there something we're missing or another work-around?
Thank you!
Emily

Emily,
I don't use the Conferences built in to Canvas much so this is just a guess (an educated guess). When you upload a powerpoint file into Big Blue Button (the Canvas Conferencing too) it converts it to PDF format, but none of the animations or links are retained in that conversion process. So essentially it's just an image of the slides being displayed. I found some references to this in the FAQ for Big Blue Button.

I would love the ability to embed a Google Slide presentation or Google Doc into Canvas Conferences! I have tons of hyperlinks saved that I want to be able to quickly access during a group discussion or weekly office hours with my students.
