The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
The world language teachers in our district are eager to use the quizzes feature in Canvas more fully; however, they are hesitant to do so because of the ease for students to translate a page with a quick right-click (see attached images) and using the "Translate to English" option that appears. Because the page looks so similar to the original aside from the subtle change from one language to another, this makes monitoring for such behavior rather difficult, especially when there are up to 40 students in a class. Currently, our district doesn't invest in a screen monitoring software. I thought I would address this on the community to see what other teachers/districts do to combat this issue.
I have been contacted by a foreign language teacher in our district because she discovered that a several students were doing this on her quiz today. I, too, would like to know if there is anyway to prevent this from occurring.
